Better late than never!

First most I would like to apologize for not writing in so long!  Its been really busy around here.  My husband has just got his license as a security officer and is in transition between jobs.  He starts on Wednesday and I am very excited for him!  Ive been working on a few DIY projects around the house, nothing huge.  Ive also been spending most of my spare time on Google and Pinterest trying to find some good inspiration for my daughter's 5th birthday party.

So far ive finished the invitations and Im very happy with how they turned out!  We decided on a ballerina themed party, so lets see how it turns out.  I have a few ideas but nothing official yet.  The party is in September, so I still have some time.  Ill be making my own pinata too so Im working on some ideas on how im going to approach that project.  I found a really nice pinata online so if worse comes to worse we could default to that but its the base of my inspiration right now.
Personally I wouldnt really want to pay for something that I could probably do myself.  I found this kind of expensive if you include the shipping and then all the candy that it would take to fill it.

Ill post pictures of my inspirations soon.  Ive also found this great website that has helped me work on cupcake toppers and other party printables for free.  Ill post more information about it soon along with the pictures.  But thanks to that, Im almost done with all the printables! :)

Things to think about

Well although today was a pretty normal day, I still have so much going on in my mind I can barely decide what is more important.  Our families birthday's are all jam-packed into the end of the year.  My husband is the first one in the party parade, on August 22.  My oldest daughter is next on September 29th.  Then comes my baby on November 10th, and finally myself on December 2nd.. All mixed in with Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.

As you can see, on New Years we have our bankruptcy celebration and finally sit down for the first time to take a deep looong breath!! lol

So I have all these birthday's to plan and make cakes for! Its chaos in this house around this time of year (or maybe it is just for me?)

My husband and I try to talk and plan thing through a little early.  We discuss funding and themes, but never really decide anything until last minute.  That always turns out to be very stressful! So this year, Im going for a more organized approach.  Im also going to try to go for a more "homemade" party.  I think it gives more originality as well as a litmitless-ness to the amount of creativity that can be put into a party (not to mention money saved).  Im going to try to do my research and try to cut corners that can be cut and save some money! :)

Lets see what I can come up with and how much it amounts to! God help me! lol :)

On another note, theres alot of stuff going on with my daughter's "new" school that are stressing me out .  I believe everything happens for a reason and God has a purpose for every single thing that happens in our lives (good or bad) and those things will lead us to better things.  Im always happy to see things get interesting because I feel like its the end of something old and the beginning of something new.  Although I dont always remember that in the most difficult moments.  But I'm very thankful to God for everything he permits in our lives because I know He is in control and I trust Him.  Im excited to see where this is going and what new people and things we will get to see in the next chapter of our lives.

A day in the Bronx

So the other day my husband and I decided to spend a family day out with our girls.  After thinking long and hard what we should do we decided to go back to the beach yet again.  But after re-thinking we decided to go to...

Ta-da!!! Yup you guessed it.. The Bronx Zoo!!

We grabbed our things and all the kids and hit the road..

We all headed down to have a nice day at the zoo.  The girls took a nice nap on the way and the hubby did a fantastic job at getting us there safely.

The entrance to the parking lot was a nightmare...

But once we got a nice spot and unloaded our monster stroller, loaded up our water bottles in our cup holders we were on our way to see some wild animals!

Our first stop was the Butterfly exhibit.  It was really such a beautiful place, I felt as if I were in a magical garden from a movie.

The butterflies flew all around us and rested on every leaf and petal around you.  The air was full of the sound of fluttering and singing birds of an array of colors.  Your not allowed to touch (or take) any butterflies though (tear).
The butterflies are given melon to snack on. How cute is that?

The girls were amazed at their surroundings.  Esther, who was visiting the zoo for the first time (the real first time doesnt count, she was too small and not in the least bit interested) was so amazed at EVERYTHING!

As we exited the Butterfly exhibit they had these cute little picture opportunities, which of course we couldnt resist!

The Flamingoes and the Peacocks were particularly beautiful of course.

Tahlia couldnt resist peeking in every hole and window.  She wanted to see it all!

In the Children's Zoo, they have a nice area for the kids to play in and discover fun facts about the animals.

Essie peeked and stared curiously at everything!

We stood in line for the Monorail and waited.. and waited... and waited....

We were starting to get tired and cranky after walking all day.. lol

Sitting in the monorail for 20 minutes watching animals in the high view and feeling the cool breeze was just what the doctor ordered. Our feet were killing us and we were so exhausted. I was particularly excited to see the Elephants!!

Our last stop of the day was the Dora and Diego 4D Adventure, which I have to say was the cutest moment for me of the entire day.  Not because I got to see Dora's pretty little face, no not at all.  But because I got to see my girls wear 4D glasses and smile and laugh.  They saw and felt things they never felt before (like water being sprinkled at us and vibrating seats!)  When I saw theyre faces, I couldnt resist but to shed a tear! Yes, dont laugh, but I cried.  lol

I had the most amazing day with my little family and Im thankful I got to do it with them. Special thanks and shout out goes out to my wonderful husband who always goes out of his way to make sure we all have such a great time. And we always do! I love you baby! :)

Accidents Happen!!

My youngest daughter, Essie, decided it would be cute to remove her diaper and parade in her bare-ness throughout the house today.  Although it was very cute (I must admit), it wasn't at all cute when she started to "pee-pee."

In my rush to get her to the bathroom, I picked her up and yelled for Tahlia to get out of the way! By the time I sat her little tooshie on the potty she began to cry and look very frightened.  I suddenly realized, oh boy I probably freaked her out. :( So I tried to calm her down and sang some songs.  She calmed down, but she still held her pee (when she realized she wasn't peeing on her diaper she held it).  Needless to say, she held her pee until her fresh diaper went on..

Thank God she's not actively being potty trained, but I hope this didn't scare her from the toilet!
